Listed buildings and climate change

Stroud District Council Planners will be resuming site visits from Monday 8th June. Please bear with us as we have a significant backlog of site visits to undertake.
The introduction of site visits will be in phases, the first being sites that can be visited without entering a building.
Please read the full update under Coronavirus.

There is no requirement for listed buildings to conform to modern building regulations for thermal efficiency; however, it is often possible to thermally upgrade a listed building without the need for significant alterations.

There is a great deal of technical advice on the thermal upgrading of historic buildings on the Historic England web site.

Please contact the Conservation Department if you have any further questions.
