Discretionary housing payment (DHP) also known as Crisis Resilience Fund housing payment

Our discretionary housing payment (DHP) scheme (which is now officially known as the Crisis Resilience Fund housing payment (CRF housing payment)) is used to assist housing benefit claimants who may need further financial help with their housing costs. Housing costs can include help towards rent, tenancy start up costs and moving costs.

We receive limited funds each year for the CRF housing payment scheme. The amount that can be spent on the scheme each year is restricted, so not everyone who claims a CRF housing payment may be awarded one and they are almost entirely one-off payments or short term awards. The receipt of any award is entirely at the discretion of the Council.  We cannot pay it to anyone moving INTO our area.  If you are moving into our council area from another, you must claim any CRF housing payment from the area you came from.

How to apply

Claims must be made in writing using form below and sent to Benefits, Stroud District Council, Ebley Mill, Ebley Wharf, Stroud, Glos. GL5 4UB
