New Local Plan – Formal Notice and Timetable
Stroud District Council has formally started work on a new Local Plan under the Government’s updated plan-making system.
This page provides key information about the start of the process, including:
- the formal Notice of Intention to Commence Plan Preparation and Declaration, and
- the Local Plan Timetable, which sets out the main stages and expected timescales.
The declaration confirms that work on the new Local Plan began on 29 June 2026 and explains how the Council will prepare the plan, including how people can get involved.
The timetable outlines the key steps in preparing the Local Plan, from early consultation through to submission, examination and adoption. This will be kept under review and updated where necessary as the plan progresses.
