Local Plan Timetable (2026-Adoption)

This timetable sets out the key stages and milestones for the preparation of the Stroud District Local Plan, in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.

The timetable will be kept under review and updated where necessary.

Preferred strategy confirmed

Draft Plan Preparation

Preparation of draft policies, site allocations, and supporting evidence (including environmental assessment)

  • This timetable reflects the Government’s expectation that Local Plans are prepared within an approximate 30‑month timeframe, where possible.
  • The programme includes key statutory stages and Gateway checks required under the new plan-making system.
  • All dates are indicative and may be subject to change as plan preparation progresses.
  • Any updates to the timetable will be published on the Council’s website.
