Step 2 - Make an application

Complete the online application form, please see the notes below

Notes for completing the online form

1. All the fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
2. At the end of the form you can choose to pay for a 1 year or 5 year licence
3. Download the following documents onto the online application

 Proof Right to licence – documentation that shows you have the right to work in the UK for example a Uk passport or documents showing leave to remain. If you are a company we will need right to work documents for all Directors – See here for more information.

Basic DBS Certificate  - this must not more than one month old, so we can check your criminal record. If you are a company, we will need basic DBS certificates for all directors. If, or any other directors, already have an Enhanced DBS Certificate for taxi or private hire work, and you are on the DBS update Service, we can accept this Certificate. If you or any of the directors are already licensed with Stroud District Council as a hackney or private hire driver, we will use the Enhanced DBS Certificate we already hold for you provided you are on the DBS update service.

Payment - you will make the payment at the end of the online form; you can choose payment for either a one or five year licence. If you are applying for an operator licence to operator 15 or more cars please note that there is an  enhance fee, please pay the online fee in the first instance and an Officer will then contact you for payment of the balance  -   see here for list of fees and charges
