Train travellers encouraged to discover Stroud district

Visit Stroud market poster

A series of posters has appeared at railway stations, inviting rail travellers to explore the Stroud district.

Stroud District Council’s Planning Strategy service commissioned local artist Isabella Fay to create the posters which aim to encourage visitors to travel to the district by train and inspire locals to discover new places.

Running through April and May, the campaign showcases highlights of the Stroud district, including Stroud Farmers’ Market, the Stroudwater Navigation Canal, and the expansive commons.

Each poster features a QR code that links to a dedicated page on the Visit Stroud website, providing tourists with detailed information about attractions and events in the area. The posters are up in stations including Paddington, Bristol Temple Meads and Parkway, Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester, Reading and Swindon.

Isabella Fay said:

“I’m so excited to see the posters up – it’s been great to work on such a lovely project so close to home.”

One of the key priorities in the Council Plan is promoting Stroud district as a sustainable tourism and visitor destination.
