Stroud District Council is inviting community groups, charities, voluntary organisations and residents with great ideas to join two upcoming workshops introducing the Spring 2026 round of Stroud Funding, the council’s civic crowdfunding programme.
Stroud Funding gives local people the tools to bring community‑led ideas to life. The platform makes it easy to gather support and raise money for projects that can make a real difference, with pledges starting from just £2. Anyone can take part, helping to shape vibrant, resilient and connected communities across the district.
Projects that crowdfund through Stroud Funding and meet the eligibility criteria may receive a council pledge of up to 50% of their fundraising target, with previous rounds averaging around 30%. The programme has already supported 33 successful initiatives, raising a combined £494,744 for improvements across the district.
Recent projects show the programme’s impact:
- The Symm Lane Play Area Project, which secured £93,103 to refurbish a well‑used local park.
- The Silvers and Carers Artistic Support Group, which raised £17,399 to provide creative sessions for adults with memory problems and dementia.
- Frith Youth Centre, which received £4,898 for acoustic panels to improve its indoor space.
- Redz youth community hubs, which raised £5,315 to launch new youth groups.

Spring 2026 online workshops
Two free online workshops in early March will help project creators get ready for the Spring 2026 funding window. These interactive sessions will explain how Stroud Funding works, offer guidance on developing project ideas and show the steps involved in setting up a Spacehive crowdfunding page.
Project creators will need to have their crowdfunding page live on the Stroud Funding platform by 6 May 2026.
Ange Gillingham, SDC’s Head of Community Services, said:
“Stroud Funding continues to show what’s possible when local people are given the tools to bring their ideas to life. These workshops are a great opportunity for anyone with a community project in mind to get practical support and understand how crowdfunding can help turn an early idea into real impact. We’re proud to have already helped dozens of groups improve shared spaces, boost wellbeing and strengthen community resilience, and we’re keen to see even more residents get involved this spring.”
One‑to‑one clinics
For those seeking personalised support, two in‑person clinics will offer 30‑minute advice sessions with the Crowdfunding team:
