Stroud District Council enhances website accessibility with Recite Me

Recite Me makes our website more accessible

Stroud District Council is proud to announce the integration of Recite Me, a leading web accessibility and language support tool, into its official website. This initiative is part of the council's ongoing commitment to improving customer experience and ensuring that all residents can access vital information and services with ease.

Recite Me provides a range of accessibility tools designed to support individuals with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments, and those who speak English as a second language. The software allows users to customise the website's content to suit their needs, offering options such as text-to-speech, translation into over 100 languages, and adjustable font sizes and colours.

Simply click on "Accessibility Tools" near the top of the council website homepage to select the Recite Me options.

"We are proud to introduce Recite Me to our website," said Liz Shellam, SDC’s Head of Customer Contact. "This tool will significantly improve our customers’ experience, ensuring that everyone can access the information they need in a way that works best for them."

The integration of Recite Me aligns with Stroud District Council's key priorities, including offering a more inclusive environment and improved engagement with all members of the community.
