Look out for SDC News: bringing council updates to your doorstep

Every household in the district will soon receive our free annual newsletter filled with updates and information which benefit every resident.

SDC News, created by Stroud District Council, is published annually to keep residents informed about council services, current initiatives and projects.

Delivered to more than 54,000 homes and available digitally, it details how the new Council Plan priorities are driving improvements across the district.

This year’s edition includes information on our collaboration with partners to develop brownfield sites for new homes, updates on our new leisure service Active Lifestyles Stroud District, the recent restoration of the Anti-Slavery Arch in Paganhill and much more.

Stroud District Council’s new Council Plan, developed in collaboration with our communities focuses on five main priorities: Environment, Climate and Nature; Communities and Wellbeing; Local Economy; Housing and Working for our Communities.

SDC News costs approximately 28p per copy to produce and distribute, the same as last year, and is printed on carbon balanced paper by a local business.

Stroud District Council Chief Executive Kathy O’Leary said:

“Reaching all our residents through the newsletter is an important part of our communication strategy, particularly for those without access to our social media channels or website.

Our annual independent survey of residents reveals that 68% of people are satisfied with how SDC operates, which is 15% above the national average. SDC News highlights the work we’re currently doing, and what’s on the horizon.

I hope you enjoy reading about some of the exciting projects we’re involved with.”

This issue will be published and sent out to all residents of Stroud district from Monday 12 May.
