Stroud District Council has evicted a tenant from a council property in Paganhill, Stroud, following repeated and serious incidents of anti-social behaviour.
This follows a pattern of violent and disruptive behaviour by the tenant, despite multiple council interventions and offers of support.
The repossessed home will now be allocated to a household on the Council's housing register, helping to meet ongoing demand for accommodation.
Stroud District Council Housing Committee Chair, Councillor Gary Luff said: “We are committed to ensuring that our neighbourhoods are safe, supportive places to live. While our housing officers always seek to work with tenants to address challenges and offer support, the council also has a duty to act when behaviour puts others at risk.
“This decision to seek possession was not taken lightly. It followed repeated incidents and legal proceedings, and only after all reasonable opportunities for engagement and rehabilitation were exhausted. We will continue to prioritise the safety of our communities and take appropriate action where necessary.”
The possession order was granted in August 2025, and the property has now been recovered. The Council will continue to work closely with local partners to prevent anti-social behaviour and support residents in maintaining safe and respectful communities.
