Stroud District Council is reminding residents to look out for their Annual Canvass Household Letter, which is being delivered to homes across the district.
The annual canvass is a legal requirement to ensure the electoral register is accurate and up to date. This helps make sure that everyone who is eligible to vote can have their say in future elections.
Kathy O’Leary, Stroud District Council’s Electoral Registration Officer said:
“Please help us keep the electoral register accurate by reading the contents of your annual canvass letter carefully and responding promptly. This will avoid us sending reminder letters or making personal visits, which cost time and money. Your cooperation ensures that everyone who is eligible to vote can do so.”
Letters will be sent to households that did not respond to an email sent in June, as well as to all households for which the elections service does not hold an email address.
If your letter advises that you need to respond, please do so by Monday 25 August 2025.
You can respond quickly and easily using one of the following methods:
- and enter the two security codes from your letter or email.
- Phone: Call 01453 766321.
- Post: Return the form using the pre-paid envelope provided.
Additionally, it is important to look out on your household form to check whether you need to reapply for your postal vote. Electors whose postal votes are due to expire will have a date of 31/01/2025 against their voting method on their letter and can reapply here:
If you have any questions, please contact the Elections Team at elections@stroud.gov.uk or call 01453 766321.
Please note this is a genuine communication from Stroud District Council. Emails about the annual canvass were sent from elections.stroud.district.council@notifications.service.gov.uk with the subject line: `Your Elector Registration Details – Stroud District Council.’
