Information Drop-In Event
Uley residents are invited to attend an Information & Drop-In Event to view the proposed plans for the site and provide feedback prior to the council submitting a planning application. The event will take place on Wednesday 30th September at Uley Village Hall, The Street, Uley, GL11 5SJ.
Due to the anticipated number of attendees, we will have two time slots with the aim to provide residents with a greater opportunity to speak with officers and consultants. The first time slot will be between 4pm and 5pm and the second time slot between 5:30pm and 6:30pm.
If you wish to attend the event, please use the link below to register your attendance and confirm your timeslot. This must be completed by 5pm on Monday 28th September. Registration can be completed per household, unless you will be attending at different times. Feel free to drop in any time within your time slot as this is an informal event.
Background Information
Further to a review of the council’s Swedish Timber Houses, at its meeting in March 2024 Housing Committee resolved to add The Knoll, Uley to the New Homes and Regeneration Programme and progress redevelopment for the provision of new affordable council homes, subject to securing planning permission.
Since this decision the scheme has been progressed and an update presented to Housing Committee in June 2026 which was approved, enabling the proposals to continue and a planning application to be submitted.
The Site
Existing
The site comprises four outdated semi-detached Swedish Timber Houses (prefabricated dwellings) and four semi-detached traditionally built homes.
Proposed
It is anticipated that the scheme will deliver 18 affordable homes, providing a mix of house types designed to meet identified affordable housing need through both rent and shared ownership tenures. Proposed house types include:
4 x 1 bed, 2 person apartments (all with individual entrances)
2 x 1 bed, 2 person bungalows
5 x 2 bed, 4 person houses
5 x 3 bed, 5 person houses
2 x 4 bed, 6 person houses

We encourage residents of Uley to attend the Information Drop-in Event if you have any questions or concerns, officers and consultants will be able to discuss these with you.
Feedback
Following the event, an online feedback form will be available from this page to enable residents to provide feedback. Paper forms will also be available at the event. The deadline to provide feedback is 5pm on Wednesday 21st October.
Feedback will be used to inform the proposals prior to submission of the planning application.
It is important to note that this is the first stage in the project for feedback, once a planning application is submitted, residents will be able to provide feedback which will be considered by the Local Planning Authority as part of the formal planning consultation.
