Our Independent Living is a group of unfurnished, self-contained homes specifically designed for older people. The aim is to provide independent, secure accommodation with the optional addition of social facilities and functions.
Independent Living in the Stroud district
Our Independent Living service provides high-quality housing for older people who wish to maintain their independence while benefiting from a safe, welcoming, and supportive community.
Designed for people aged 55 and over, our schemes offer comfortable homes alongside opportunities to stay active, social, and connected. Whether you require occasional advice and support or simply want the reassurance of living within a community setting, Independent Living provides the flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
We believe that everyone should be able to live independently with dignity, choice, and confidence. Our approach is centred on providing as little or as much support as an individual needs, helping residents remain independent for as long as possible.

Supporting Independence
We understand that everyone's circumstances are different. Our dedicated teams work with residents to help them access the services and support they need, enabling them to continue living safely and independently in their own home.
Through partnership working with health, social care, voluntary organisations, and community groups, we help residents access a wide range of services that promote wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.

Our dedicated Independent Living team works together to create safe, welcoming communities where residents can thrive and remain independent for as long as possible. We provide a flexible service that offers as little or as much support as residents need, helping them maintain their wellbeing, confidence, and quality of life.
Site Officers duties include:
- Day to day running of the scheme
- Cleaning communal areas
- Maintaining the communal grounds
- Dealing with Health & Safety issues, compliance and hazards
- Reporting communal repair issues
- Light Maintenance
Enabling Officer will contact you on request to:
- Make referrals to specialist sources of help and support
- Provide support to maintain your tenancy
Independent Living Hub Facilitator will:
- Work with external and internal partners to provide a Community based resource in our communal spaces on schemes
- Liaise with tenants to understand what they would like to see in the communal areas.
We have four Community Hubs in Stonehouse, Cam, Minchinhampton and Nailsworth. We have twenty schemes with communal spaces for tenants to socialise and 4 schemes with no communal spaces. Most schemes have communal laundry facilities.
