Stained Glass of the Cotswolds in the 20th Century and Today
Friday, March 10, 2023
The 20th century saw huge artistic change, and the art of stained glass reflects those changes. From the Arts and Crafts glass, full of feeling and detail, by Christopher Whall at Gloucester cathedral, through the austere, refined glass of Ninian Comper and his followers, to the dalle-de-verre abstractions at Prinknash, to the many thoughtful and beautiful pieces by contemporary artist Tom Denny, this talk explores the new directions taken in stained glass in the last 120 years. After the talk, enjoy coffee and cake.
