BBC 1 scientist helps celebrate Stroud’s inventiveness! 9th – 15th February 2017.

Marty Jopson, resident scientist on BBC1’s ‘The One Show’, will be putting the awesome into electricity with his high-voltage ‘Zap, Crackle and Pop’ show at this year’s Festomane, a week’s celebration of the inventiveness that’s made Stroud district a powerhouse of industrial creativity for over 200 years.

At the free public exhibition, ‘Creation and Innovation Revealed’ on Wednesday 15th at Stratford Park Leisure Centre, Stroud, watch bananas ring bells and balls spin round by themselves, take a walk through the universe in the pop-up planetarium, get hands-on with fun activities and games, chat to local companies about job opportunities and their latest products, and watch Marty’s show.

The ‘Engineer your Future’ workshop on Saturday 11th will give young people an insight into the vast range of jobs that the sector has on offer, and the business seminar on Thursday 9th offers local engineering and manufacturing companies free advice to help their businesses, and profits, flourish.
