We’re here to help essential businesses trade safely

Environmental Health Officers are stepping up efforts to help businesses, shoppers, and communities stay safe during lockdown.
More officers have been moved from other tasks so they can advise business owners on how to operate safely within the current lockdown rules.
“The rate of Covid-19 infection remains high, and even though it has dropped slightly in the Stroud district since last week, this is no time to be complacent,” said Stroud District Council Leader, Doina Cornell.
“The vast majority of businesses which can open legally are doing everything they can to comply and protect themselves and customers. But if they need help, our officers are available to offer the latest advice so they can continue trading safely.”
Officers are also continuing to actively check compliance – anyone who has concerns can contact our Environmental Health team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01453 766321 and pressing option 5.
“These are very difficult times for all of us and we understand it’s not always easy to understand and follow the rules - we want to help businesses and protect everyone,” added Councillor Cornell. “I would like to thank all those businesses which are working to serve their communities and keep everyone safe. But if you have concerns or problems, please do let us know.”
During the Covid-19 pandemic, it is important for businesses to operate where it is permitted and safe to do so. Some essential businesses are allowed to operate if Covid-secure measures are in place but many businesses are closed. For more information, visit www.stroud.gov.uk/workingsafely
