Published: Wednesday, 10 January, 2018

Following the decision by Stroud District Council in December not to sell the freehold of Stroud Subscription Rooms and the associated forecourt, the council is now looking for a tenant for the iconic building in Stroud town centre. The leaseholder will be expected to run the venue for public arts, community use and entertainment and offers from community organisations, individuals and companies are being sought by the council for a lease of around 30 years. Details are now available from Bruton Knowles.  The closing date for offers is 12 noon on 5th March.

Councillor Doina Cornell said

"We are looking for organisations and people who would like to develop the Sub Rooms as an exciting venue for the 21st century.  There is a growing arts and leisure economy in Stroud District which we want to see expand. We hope interested parties will work together with the local community to develop the best possible options for the future"
