New Cotswolds Visitor Guide will be bigger, bolder and better than ever

Tourist attractions, restaurants and accommodation providers are being urged to sign up for advertising space in a new guide to the Cotswolds, which promotes the Stroud district along with Cotswold district, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury borough and West Oxfordshire.
Endorsed by Visit England, the Cotswolds Visitor Guide 2017 will be the official destination guide for the area and will be widely promoted in the UK and worldwide.
The new publication, produced by Cotswolds Tourism Partnership, incorporates the existing Visit Cotswolds and Oxfordshire Cotswolds guides and promises the biggest and most comprehensive coverage of the region.
It will be backed by an advertising and marketing strategy which will include national distribution to visitor information centres, exhibitions and trade shows, targeted websites and a social media campaign.
Jackie Pennington, operations manager at Berkeley Castle, has developed a long-standing and rewarding partnership with Cotswolds Tourism.
She said:
“We are delighted to hear that the Cotswolds Tourism Partnership is amalgamating both the Visit Cotswolds and the Oxfordshire Cotswold guides. We feel that this will help to broaden the awareness of Berkeley Castle within those regions.
“The resulting reduced production costs have also had a positive effect on advertising prices too. The guide has always been of a very high standard and is widely distributed by the partnership.”
Cllr Stephen Robinson, chair of the Stroud District Council’s Community Services and Licensing Committee, added:
“Cotswolds Tourism is an iconic destination brand and we understand the importance of this brand in helping to attract a wide range of visitors, both domestic and international, to the Stroud district. The aim of the guide is to showcase what else is on offer in the Cotswolds, such as our exciting array of festivals and events, in addition to the quintessential honey-pot villages that many visitors have already heard of. This new guide encompasses everything that is good about the region as well as providing an excellent marketing opportunity for the businesses that are included in it.”
The Cotswolds Visitors Guide 2017 will be launched this December. Businesses and destinations wishing to be included should contact Cotswolds Tourism on 01285 623000 or email cotswoldstourism@cotswold.gov.uk. The final deadline to advertise is Wednesday 31st August 2016.
