Published: Tuesday, 9 July, 2019
This weekend (13th and 14th July) the Museum in the Park is holding a Living Limestone Weekend, celebrating the Cotswold landscape and the heritage crafts associated with this versatile stone.
On both days, from 11am to 4pm you will be able to watch a traditional dry stone wall being built by experienced local craftsmen. There will even be opportunities to join in.
You can also delight in the display of stone working tools and fossils from the museum collection, and as an additional treat on the Saturday you can marvel at the skill of a Master Stone Mason and his apprentices in the museum courtyard.
All this is free of charge thanks to the Cotswolds Sustainable Development Fund and the Friends of the Museum in the Park.
Stroud Country Show will also be taking place in the park on Saturday 13th July making this a great day to visit for all the family – we look forward to seeing you.
