Would you like to earn a recognised qualification and gain practical paid experience while working for an award winning apprenticeship employer?
Stroud District Council has four apprenticeship vacancies across a range of services which include property maintenance, ICT and finance.
“The traditional routes of sixth form or university don’t suit everyone, and an apprenticeship can be an excellent alternative for many people,” said Lucy Powell, SDC’s Human Resources Manager.
“Our apprentices are treated as full members of the teams they work in, and we work hard to make sure they are fully supported.”
The deadline for applications is Sunday 10 October.
The apprenticeships are:
ICT Service Desk Apprentice NVQ Level 3, £18,198
You will support the Service Desk team in delivering essential projects such as laptop builds and troubleshooting IT related issues. The role will be very varied and we will support you in gaining an Information Communications Technician NVQ Level 3 through SGS College, Stroud.
Accounting Technician Apprentice, NVQ Level 3, £18,198
As part of the finance team you will learn to use a wide range of office and accounting software. You will work with the budget team, treasury and internal audit to cover issues of vat, reconciliations, customer and debtor records, coding of projects, data protection, and communication with other services. The role will be very varied and will support you in gaining an Accounting Technician qualification NVQ Level 3 through SGS College, Stroud.
Plumbing and Heating Technician Apprentice, NVQ Level 3, £18,198
You will work as part of the Property Care team which is responsible for repairs to tenants’ homes and you will carry out basic plumbing tasks. As part of your qualification you will learn to install, service, commission and maintain all aspects of plumbing and heating systems.
Property Maintenance Apprentice, NVQ Level 2, £12,444
You will be working as part of the Property Care team and will have responsibility for some of the basic maintenance tasks in tenants’ homes.
As part of your apprenticeship you will understanding the mechanism of buildings including electrical, plumbing, safety systems and equipment.
Stroud District Council employs eight apprentices, and has eight employees who are gaining apprenticeship qualifications. It was awarded Apprenticeship Employer of the Year at the Gloucestershire Live Apprenticeship Awards 2020.
