Books of condolence for HM The Queen are open

Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II yesterday, books of condolence have been opened at three locations across the district, and online.

They will be available for residents to pay their respects, if they wish, at:

  • Stroud District Council, Ebley Mill, Ebley Wharf, Stroud, GL5 4UB
    Open from 8.45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
  • The Pulse, Castle Street, Dursley, GL11 4BS
    Open from 6am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday.
  • St Mary’s Church, Culverhay, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 7LS.
    Open 9am to 7pm every day Monday to Sunday inclusive.
  • Civic Centre, 2 Gloucester Street, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 7DN.
    Open 9am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday.

And online at www.royal.uk

Residents who wish to lay floral tributes are welcome to do so at Stratford Park, Stratford Road, Stroud, GL5 4AF. A dedicated space has been made available on the grass bank at the top (north) side of the main car park, adjacent to the coach bays. Floral tributes may be laid at the above addresses as well, and they will be moved respectfully to Stratford Park at a later date.

In accordance with Royal protocol, the Union flag has been flying at half mast at Ebley Mill since yesterday when the formal announcement was made.

Yesterday, Council Chair Steve Robinson conveyed his condolences to the Royal Family, on behalf of the district.
