Tenancy Deposit Protection

If you started renting your home after the 6 April 2007 landlords requesting rent deposits must protect them using one of the government Deposit Protection Schemes available. Within 14 days of taking your deposit your landlord must advise you of the authorised scheme he or she has registered your deposit with and provide you with details on how to apply for the release of the deposit.
