If you have been a secure Council tenant for at least three years (not necessarily at the same property) you could be eligible for a discount on the purchase price of your property of up to a maximum of £84,200, depending on how long you have been a social tenant.

Delay in processing Right to Buy applications
Due to the backlog of Right to Buy applications we are dealing with as a result of Covid 19, a high volume of new applications and a reduction in staff numbers due to illness there is currently an 8-10 week delay in registering new Right to Buy applications, please bear with us.

Applying to buy
You can apply on your own, or make a joint application with someone who shares your tenancy or with members of your family who have lived with you for the past 12 months.
