This could be the perfect time to consider buying your home.
If you have been a secure Council tenant for at least three years (not necessarily at the same property) you could be eligible for a discount on the purchase price of your property of up to a maximum of £78,600, depending on how long you have been a social tenant. You can apply on your own, or make a joint application with someone who shares your tenancy or with members of your family who have lived with you for the past 12 months.
