Recycling centres (Tips)
Pyke Quarry Household Recycling Centre (HRC) near Horsley re-opened on 23 June
However we are expecting the site to be very busy for the next few days so there are likely to be queues and delays. You may wish to postpone your visit or take your waste & recycling to another HRC.
Details of the two recycling centres (tips) in the Stroud district. Both centres are operated by Gloucestershire County Council.

Fosse Cross (Cirencester)
Opening times for both sites
9.00am - 6.15pm Monday to Sunday*. These hours will stay the same all year round.
*except Christmas Day and New Years Day

These sites accept a wide variety of materials for recycling including, paper, cardboard, textiles, garden waste, plastic bottles, engine oil, vegetable oil, light bulbs (traditional and energy efficient), fluorescent tubes, beverage cartons, glass, metal, wood and timber, batteries. Coupled with this you can also take waste for landfill and rubble.
Ad hoc closures
There may be occasions when either centre may have to close at short notice, bad weather for example. Please check Recycle for Gloucestershire for the latest information before travelling.
Book in a van, pick-up or large trailer
If you would like to take a van to either Pyke quarry or Hempsted you must book in advance. You can book online via Recycle for Gloucestershire.
