Local Government, County and Police and Crime Commissioner elections - Thursday 6 May 2021

On Thursday 6 May 2021 elections will be held for, 10 County Council seats, all 51 District Councillor seats, all 52 Parish/Town Councils, Police and Crime Commission election for Gloucestershire Area and Neighbourhood Planning Referendums in Cam and Horsley.

Standing as a councillor in these elections

If you wish to stand as a candidate in these elections you will need to complete and submit a Nomination Paper.

Nomination papers for County, District and Parish/Town will be available from Monday 8 February either as a downloadable document on this page or in paper format by request only to elections@stroud.gov.uk or calling 01453 766321. You will need to be able to state which County, District and/or Parish/Town Council (and where warded, what ward) you would like to stand in when completing your nomination papers.

 

Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the below address between the hours of 10am to 4pm Monday - Friday from Monday 22 March by appointment. We will be implementing a booking system where you can arrange an appointment for an informal check of the nomination paper and to book a separate appointment to submit your nomination paper to Ebley Mill. You are strongly advised to arrange your informal check and delivery of your nomination as early as possible. This is to give you sufficient time to submit a new nomination paper should your first contain any errors.

The deadline for delivery is 4pm on Thursday 8 April 2020.

Candidate and Agents Briefings

We will be holding two remote Candidates and Agents briefings. The first briefing will run through the nomination and election process prior to nominations opening. This will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 6 February 2021 at 5.30pm.

The second briefing will explain other election processes such as polling day and the verification and count process. This will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 13 April 2021 at 5.30pm.
