European Parliamentary Election

The day of poll for the European Parliamentary Elections is Thursday 23 May 2019.

 
The European Parliamentary Elections are held to elect representatives to the European Parliament. For these elections, the country is split up into regions and each region elects a certain number of representatives. 

 
Stroud is part of the South West Region and is currently represented by 6 Members of European Parliament (MEP's).
 

These representatives, represent our views on decisions made in the European Parliament. They do this by listening to people with local and national concerns, talking to interest groups and businesses and where necessary questions.

My right to vote:

The voting rights of the EU Citizens living in the UK will remain the same until 30 June 2021.

 
Casting my vote in the UK:

You must complete and return your European Parliamentary Voter Registration Form (UC1) to the Electoral Registration Officer by Wednesday 7 May 2019 to enable you to vote in the European Parliamentary Election from the UK.

The forms were sent out on 12 April 2019. If you have not received a form, a blank form is available below.

or contact the Elections Team on 01453 754887 as soon as possible.


Nominations

Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Regional Returning Officer or his Deputy at Room 84, West Wing Basemen, Civic Centre, Southhampton, SO14 7LY on any day after the date of this name, on Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm (Excluding bank holidays) but no later than the deadline for receipt of nominations at 4pm on Thursday 25th April 2019.
