Date of consultation: Monday, November 2, 2015 - Monday, December 14, 2015
Consultation summary
In accordance with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1983 and Section 16 of the Electoral Administration Act 2006 the Council must undertake a review of the polling districts and polling places within its area every four years. The next review was due to take place within five years; however, the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) undertook an electoral review of Stroud and published its final recommendations for the Stroud District ward boundaries in June 2015. The recommendations were to maintain the number of District Councillors at 51, create a number of new wards and significantly change the boundaries of some existing wards, with effect from the whole council elections in May 2016. As a result the Council now needs to amend the polling districts in some wards and, in some cases, the polling stations.
