Taxi Safeguarding Training

As of 1st April 2017 Safeguarding Training became mandatory for ALL drivers licensed by Stroud. Please see below for training dates and availability.

All taxi and private hire drivers licensed with Stroud District Council must complete Safeguarding training before a licence is issued. You must pay the fee and book the training directly through the provider.

All training is held at Cheltenham Borough Council, Municipal Offices, Promenade, GL50 9SA and commences at 10am. Enrolment will close at 12 noon three days before each course and it will not be possible to book after that time.

Safeguarding training is mandatory for licensed taxi and private hire drivers because they are in a privileged position of knowing a lot about the communities that they work in and sometimes they are witness to issues relating to vulnerable children and adults. We aim to make Stroud District taxi and private hire drivers aware of these issues and how to report anything that they may notice.
