The Stroud District is situated in the South of the Cotswolds and has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and a natural choice for anyone interested in walking or cycling.
As well as the Cotswold Way, snaking its way from the North to the South of the District, a number of circular walks have been created so any visitor to the area can enjoy the countryside.

The website contains information on all the walks that take place across the district and you can apply for a free circular walks pack that contains 44 walks. In addition, you can find out about walk leader training.
One of the best ways of enjoying the district's beautiful countryside is on a bicycle.
Two cycle routes within the District form part of the Sustrans National Cycle Network. The Berkeley Vale to Gloucester Cathedral route is complete whilst the Stonehouse-Nailsworth route is complete between those two towns, via Stroud, but the links to the network require further work.
