Asbestos Regulations

Under the Control of Asbestos regulations 2006 (CAR 2006), the owner or tenant of the property, and anyone else who has control over it and/ or responsibility for maintaining or repairing it, a statutory obligation to detect and manage any asbestos or asbestos related compounds contained with the property. Failure to comply with the CAR is an offence and could adversely affect the value of the property.

The Council can make available a report that presents the observations and analytical results of a Type 2 asbestos survey (as specified in HSE guidance document MDHS/100), with appropriate sampling references. The report was undertaken on 15th January 2003.
