The Council collects certain materials for recycling from outside houses in the District, on a fortnightly basis. This is called a kerbside collection scheme. The items we can collect in this way are:
- paper
- cans
- glass
- aluminium foil
- plastic bottles (except brown plastic bottles)
- household non-rechargeable batteries (to be placed in seperate bag at top of box)
Please note: bottles, cans and aluminium foil to be rinsed before putting them out.
If you live in the District, you should have a green plastic box for recycling. If you do not have one, please contact us and we will arrange for one to be delivered to you. You can also request a lid for your recycling box in the same way.
The Get it sorted website contains useful information on recycling in general.
When should I put the box out?
Recycling collections are carried out fortnightly on the same day as your refuse collection. Collections start from 6am.
You can check your collection day via this link.
If you are not sure when your recycling box will next be emptied, call us on 01453 754424 or e-mail recycling@stroud.gov.uk, letting us know where you live.
