Release Date: 14 February 2013
Stroud District Council has teamed up with Gloucestershire Enterprise Ltd, the county's enterprise agency, to provide much-needed support for the district's businesses and entrepreneurs.
The tie up will deliver an array of business support services for local would-be entrepreneurs and existing businesses. Many of the programmes will be at no cost to participants, while the remainder will attract subsidies from Stroud District Council.
Broad categories of support include:
Councillor Roger Sanders, executive member for regeneration for Stroud District Council, said:
'Our focus is on developing a strong jobs and growth agenda so we want to do what we can to support entrepreneurs and businesses. With the demise of Business Link there is a distinct lack of face-to-face support for those considering starting a business of their own or existing small businesses who simply want to discuss a business issue with a specialist. By linking up with Gloucestershire Enterprise, who have a great deal of expertise in this area, we can help our local business community to prosper and ensure that we aren't missing out on opportunities for growth.'
