Summer fun for families at The Museum in the Park

Release Date: 13 August 2012

The summer holiday season continues with a swing at Stroud's Museum in the Park. Open every day in August and set in the beautiful grounds of Stratford Park, this friendly and colourful local Museum is a great place to visit during the school holidays, and, best of all, admission is FREE!

"There's always something to intrigue and fascinate children of all ages", said Charlotte Hough, Duty Manager. "Free quiz trails are a fun way for children to explore the many historic objects on display, from 'Animal Crackers', a favourite with little ones, to 'All at Sea' or 'Mystery Objects'. Can you spot our funny giraffe? And can you find out where dolphins used to be in Stroud?" Hot off the press are new trails especially for summer 2012 - ask at reception when you visit.

From Wednesdays to Saturdays during the holidays, families can enjoy creative drop in activities. Look out for 'Creative Clay Days' next week, followed by 'Creative Doodling & Drawing Days' the following week. Marvellously messy fun for all ages! Drop in family fun activities cost just £1 per child, and parents and grandparents get to have a go for free.

The Park and Museum courtyard are lovely places for picnics, and why not enjoy a game of swingball or giant chess or dominoes too!
