£80,000 refurbishment for pool changing rooms

Dursley Pool has just completed an £80,000 refurbishment of its changing rooms in time for its 25th anniversary later this year.

Councillor June Cordwell, executive member for community services, said:

'More changing cubicles have been provided which will be especially beneficial for families and disabled customers. The new look changing room was designed with input from our customers through surveys and a customer forum. It's the first major improvement to this area since it opened in 1988.'

Lockers are now also available in various sizes to suit a range of customers' needs and the wet change area for disabled users has now been transformed into a wet and dry change area.

Angela Gillingham, general manager of Dursley Pool, said:

'The changing room refit has given the pool a much needed facelift . The area has been completely redesigned to deliver a real sense of space which gives our customers additional comfort when changing.'

Councillor Cordwell added:

'Dursley Pool is an extremely busy centre and the new changing room is already proving popular with our regular customers.'

The improvements follow on from a £35,000 revamp of the pool area last year which included retiling and new showers.

The pool is open 7 days a week for the public, schools and community groups.
