This document was adopted by Council as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on 6th Nov 2008. It forms part of the IHCA Conservation Area Statement and sits within the Stroud District Local Development Framework.
This SPD contains management proposals for the preservation or enhancement of the eight conservation areas covered by the IHCA review:
This document looks at the key issues and pressures facing these conservation areas, and how these affect their character or appearance. In response, policies and design guidance are set out. This document explains how the Council will interpret and apply broader development plan policies (including the current Local Plan) and national planning policy and advice, taking specific account of the character and "special interest" of these eight conservation areas, as identified in the supporting conservation area Character Appraisal.
The SPD and all its supporting documents are available to download below. The documents are also available to view at the Customer Services centre at Stroud District Council offices, during normal office hours (Monday-Thursday 8.45am-5pm and Friday 8.45am-4.30pm), and at public libraries throughout the District. Copies are also available to view at the following Town or Parish Councils (these are councils which have offices open to the public and which are directly affected by the SPD - i.e. one or more of the eight conservation areas lie within the parish area): Stroud Town Council, Stonehouse Town Council, Cainscross Parish Council, Rodborough Parish Council, Chalford Parish Council, Nailsworth Parish Council, Minchinhampton Parish Council.
