Employment Studies

In the last five years two studies have been undertaken to provide baseline information to inform the development of Council policy; particularly spatial planning policy for employment purposes, and formulating economic development, marketing and promotion strategies and in the preparation of bids for funding.

The first was undertaken by White Young Green Planning and Chesterton Plc in Autumn 2003 to assist in developing policy related to the Stroud Valleys and in particular the restoration of the Cotswold Canals. However the proposal to produce a Cotswold Canals Area Action Plan was dropped in the latest revision of the Council's Local Development Scheme in favour of a more focused Area Action Plan for Brimscombe.

A District wide study has been undertaken during 2007 by GVA Grimley to provide evidence to inform the preparation of the Council's Core Strategy and other documents in the Local Development Framework.
