Facilities at Stratford Park

Stratford Park has a large range of facilities that can be enjoyed year round.

Bowling green

First constructed in 1935.The home green of Stroud Bowls Club, but also available for casual bookings. To book, please contact Parkwood Leisure on 01453 766771.

Tennis courts

Stratford Park has 6 tarmac tennis courts available for hire, of which 4 are floodlit. To book, please contact Parkwood Leisure on 01453 766771.

Putting green

A 9 hole putting green is available from April to September and is located near the Leisure Centre. Simply turn up and pay at reception.

Model railway

The model railway is located in the woodland area and has rides for children every last Sunday in the month. For details on dates and times see the Stroud Society of Model Engineers website.

Children's play area

The park has an extensive play area for children aged 4-11 years.

Skateboard park

The skate park area has two flat banks, a large and small jump box, one quarter pipe and several grinding rails within the area. This is a free facility.

Basketball court

Located near the entrance to the site is a full size outdoor basketball court. This is a free facility.

All weather synthetic sports surface

The park has a full size sand based synthetic surface available for hire of football and hockey pitches.For bookings please contact Parkwood Leisure on 01453 766771.

Bandstand

Sunday afternoon brass band concerts are held at the bandstand during summer months.The bandstand is also available for hire by local groups. To book, please contact Rob Griffiths on 01453 754332 or e-mail rob.griffiths@stroud.gov.uk.

Football and cricket pitches

Stratford Court has 3 senior football pitches, 4 junior football pitches and 2 cricket squares.The facilities are maintained by our site grounds staff and host over 80 matches per year. To book, please contact Parkwood Leisure on 01453 766771.

Lake

The park has a large ornamental lake used by Stroud and District Angling Club.Full details of fishing permits are available from the Old Nelson Public House which is situated opposite the park, or by contacting the Stroud and District Angling Club on 01242 526464.
