Creative Dance Club

The club is based at various locations around the district including Stratford Park Leisure Centre, Thomas Keble Sports Centre and Rednock Community Rooms.

Creative Dance

The club was established in November 2007 in partnership with Gloucestershire Dance. It is aimed at Children and young people between the ages of 10-16 yrs old with physical, sensory and learning disabilities.

The sessions are safe, fun and inclusive and delivered by trained dance artists from Gloucestershire Dance. The participants are encouraged to be creative and express themselves through dance.

Sessions run on Thursday from 4.30-5.45 at Thomas Keble School

The club is part of Gloucestershire Dance's programme of inclusive dance workshops across the county funded by BBC Children in Need. The aims of the project are: -

  • To deliver high quality dance activity throughout the special schools in Gloucestershire
  • To work in partnership with special schools, school sports coordinators and partnership development manager to enable interaction with mainstream schools.
  • To work in partnership to set up opportunities for families, parents and the local community.
  • To provide opportunities for children and young people to showcase their work.
  • To design individually tailor made programmes which suit the needs of the school, the children and the teachers.
