Rent

As your landlord, Stroud District Council has a duty to make sure all rent is paid up to date. This is because the rent that is paid by tenants goes towards paying for the upkeep of Council housing and the provision of services for tenants.

If there is a high level of rent arrears it means that the level of service given to residents may not be maintained. Stroud District Council aims to be firm but fair when dealing with rent arrears. We will work with you to make sure you are able to pay your rent. As a tenant, you must make paying your rent a priority. Non-payment of rent means that you run the risk of losing your home.
