Stroud District Council

Affordable Housing

Affordable housing is low-cost and subsidised housing that is available to people who cannot afford to rent or buy houses generally available in the local market. This includes housing for rent and low-cost home ownership options.

Stroud District Council owns and manages over 5200 rented properties including over 500 properties specifically for older people and 29 sheltered housing schemes.

Additionally there are over 20 Housing Associations that own in excess of 1,500 homes around the District.

Low Cost Home Ownership options

A variety of Homebuy schemes exist. They are designed to assist people who could manage to purchase a property, but cannot afford the open market values of property suitable to their needs. For further information: www.stroud.gov.uk/homebuy
