A Fertile Field: an Arts and Crafts tradition in Gloucestershire
Mary Greensted, writer on the Arts and Crafts Movement and Chairman of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen, will introduce the rich craft tradition that developed from the late 19th century. Inspired by William Morris, architects, designers and craftspeople brought new life to the region. They wanted to try out new ways of working and living and their pioneering approaches have been continually developed up to the present day. Gloucestershire continues to provide a home for vibrant and inspiring craftwork.
