As You Like It
You are cordially invited to an open-air performance of Shakespeares comedy, AS YOU LIKE IT in the lovely setting of the grounds of Stouts Hill. The play will be performed by the long-established and professional RAIN OR SHINE THEATRE COMPANY from Gloucester. AS YOU LIKE IT is a romantic and light-hearted comedy with a Court in turmoil, a banished Duke and his villainous twin, a cross-dressing heroine and her gooseberry friend. There is an honest man and his wicked brother, a jester, a philosopher, wenches and shepherds, a wrestling match with a twist and songs a-plenty. Please bring your own low-backed chairs andor a rug together with warm clothing, a hot flask and perhaps insect repellent. Gates will open at 6.30pm for picnics and the performance will begin at 7.30pm. Duration of performance about 2 hours 30 minutes including 20 minute interval.
