SOLD OUT Summer Evening Concert: Music in the Home
Before the days of recorded music we all made music in the home. This entertaining concert will present styles of domestic music-making that were popular in a 16th, 17th and 18th Century home, perhaps even once enjoyed in the Mansion House now housing the Museum. Music by J. S. Bach, Rodrigues Coelho, Scarlatti and others will be performed by Oogoo Maia on the Virginal and Clavichord. Oogoo, elegantly attired in 18th Century costume, will talk about each piece and its historical context, making this an informative and entertaining evening of music at the Museum.
