Kerbside Box Collections

All residents of the District currently receive fortnightly collection of recyclables through a kerbside box.

Materials that can be accepted in these collections include:

We ask that waste is presented at kerbside by 0600hrs on the morning of collection, as this is the time that crews commence work.

What happens to the material collected for recycling?

Paper

Paper being collected from the kerbside	De-inking process	Paper being used at mill to be turned into newsprint

Glass

Glass bottle being collected	Stored at recycling depot	ConGlassCrete Tiles made from recycled glass

Plastic Bottles

Bottles being collected	A conveyor belt sorting and moving plastic	Bottles converted into plastic pellets to be used in the manufacteuring of items like plastic garden furniture or decking

Steel and Aluminium Cans

Can being collected	Magnetic sorting of cans	Old cans converted back into new metal products
