Stroud District Council

New Food Safety Rules - Safer Food Better Business

Food Safety Rules Have Changed

All food business are now required to write down what they do to manage food safety hazards in their business and keep proper records of the checks carried out to ensure food safety. Proprietors must also ensure that management and staff are properly trained in the use of the system.

Safer Food Better Business - Support for Caterers

If this sounds pretty daunting, don't panic. The Council's Commercial Services Team together with consultants, CMI plc, have put together a low-cost workshop for catering managers to introduce them to a new management pack called Safer Food Better Business . The half-day workshops are limited to just 7 caterers so that everyone will get some one-to-one assistance on tailoring the pack to their business.

All we need is 3 hours of your time but once your system is in place it should only take a minute a day to keep the necessary records. (You will probably need to do complete some elements of the pack, after the workshop in your own time but if you need any further help our food safety officers can arrange a visit to help you).

Workshops will be held at the Council Offices Ebley Mill every 2 months and some of the other local authorities in the County have made similar arrangements.
