Tri Partnership

Tri Partnership dissemination 2002-2003

Following the award the three Beacon councils have worked with the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) to share their best practice with councils all over the country. The dissemination process of their best practice commenced by hosting a successful workshop at the Showcase event on 26th June 2002 at the Royal Marriott Hotel in Bristol. This was followed by Stroud, Tewkesbury and the Forest of Dean Councils hosting a successful workshop at the LGA conference at Cambridge on 13th of September and again at Hambleton District Council (the only other council awarded Beacon Status in this theme) Open Day on 26th September 2002.

The three Councils hosted their own Beacon Open Day on 2nd October 2002 at British Energy, Barnwood, Gloucester. The Open Day focused on how to create safe and sustainable rural communities by preventing and reducing crime. The day was opened by Phil Sullivan, Community Safety Officer for Stroud District Council and consisted of keynote speeches from Chief Constable Tim Brain of Gloucestershire Constabulary and Peter Steel the Chief Executive of GDAS (Gloucestershire Drugs and Alcohol Service).

You can view a photo of the keynote speakers here.

The speeches were followed by a number of workshops as follows:-
