Useful Registration & Absent Vote Applications

A form is sent to every household in late August or early September asking for details of everyone resident there on 15 October. At any other time, if you live in the Stroud District area you need to complete an Electoral Registration form, which can be found here:

You can register to vote if you are:

  • 16 years old or over and
  • a British citizen
  • or an Irish, Commonwealth or European Union citizen who is resident in the UK

If you are 16 or 17, you can only register if you will be 18 within the lifetime of the electoral register.  The register lasts from 1 December to 30 November the following year. You cannot vote until you are 18.

What if I can't get to the polling station on election day?

If you cannot get to the polling station on polling day, you can apply to vote by post or proxy (a proxy is someone who votes for you). Please use the forms below or contact the office on 01453 754380:
