Constitution

The Council's Constitution provides a set of rules on how the Council operates, including how the Council will make decisions and the procedures which have to be followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people and businesses.

Some of the processes are required by law, whilst others are practices that the Council has decided to adopt.

Citizens have a number of rights in their dealings with the Council and these are set out in detail in Article 3 of the Constitution.
