The Stroud Crime and Disorder Partnership was established in 1998, utilising existing resources with staff from the member organisations donating a few hours of their time to partnership development.
Since those early days the role of the partnership has expanded dramatically and the workforce has subsequently increased.
The first strategy was written and published in 1999 at the inception of the Act and the first three-year strategy superseded this strategy for the year 2002 to 2005. This has now been superseded by the strategy for the year 2008 to 2011. All three year strategies are available to download below:

Summary of Stroud Area Crime & Disorder Partnership Strategy 2005-08 (PDF 950KB) - 16/03/2005
This strategy has been written as a result of an audit of the agencies in the district or operating in the district and consulted upon with the public by written questionnaire to 3000 people across the district and to schools and older people and hard to hear groups.
Many people in partnership have contributed to the formulation of the new strategy and of course to all the work that has been carried out under the old Strategy.
The document (available to download below) is a collation of work that has been undertaken by the Crime and Disorder Partnership over the last three years. The document does not cover all the work that all of the agencies are doing in the district under the banner of Crime and Disorder, mainly due to the fact that there is so much going on, on a day to day basis with the various agencies, that never comes to the notice of the reporting process. The document does however include a vast amount of work that has been going on within the district in order to reduce crime and the fear of crime, targeting those areas within the Strategy for the three year period April 2002 to March 2005.
